News & Events:

NYLON Interview with me in the new NYLON Magazine! The right-on-right-now NYLON Magazine did a really great 2-page feature on 6 poster artists called "Picture The Sound" in the current June/July issue written by Fiorella Valdesolo. Here is a direct link to NYLON's current issue online: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/nylon/0608/

March marches out...

News & Events:
Printmaking Lens on Squidoo.com:
I'm in a supercool Lens! If you are interested in current printmaking and artists check out this really great list / lens on Squidoo.com: http://www.squidoo.com/allaboutprintmaking

This lens was built and is being maintained by ploverwing ( http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5399768 ) a lovely printmaker who runs a shop on etsy.com. Super cool aggregate with lots of fantastic working printmakers on the web. Chock fulla links and resources, so take a nice gander. It's fairly extensive actually with lots of inspiration and kickass artists. Figured some of you might dig it and/or want to send her your links too. Or just look at the pretty.

Mass Consumption!
Oooooh looky cookie. Another cool little collection sort of site: http://www.mass-consumption.com/ run by my good ol' pal Good Ol' Tom of Massachussetts Standard Design. Sort of feels homey and apple-piey there. Donnit? Donut. (That's a Dunkin Donuts / Masshole joke, twerp.) Easy to navigate and simple to use. Which means that it will probably die a slow, dry death. Please don't let that happen, go visit every once in a while. Your Gramma loves you.

Upcoming posters:
April:
4/19 - The Joggers & Scout Niblett with The Ethereals @ The Conservatory, OKC, OK
May:
5/25 - Tegan & Sara @ the Sasquatch Music Festival, @ The Gorge, in George, WA.

Austin, Texas! Flatstock 16 & SXSW YAY!

Flatstock 16 - March 13th-15th, Austin TX / SXSW
www.flatstock.com & http://2008.sxsw.com/music/flatstock

Q: Is it fun to go to other cities?
A: Yes.

Q: Is it nice to see friends from all over the country, and meet new ones?
A: Yes.

Q: Is it a good idea to get the heck out of Dear Pittsburgh in March?
A: YES. Especially as we're set to have a giant snowstorm, again, this weekend.

Q: Will I have lots of new work and prints with me?
A: Oh my goodness HELL YES. It's been a productive winter here at the hamlet of strawberryluna. I'm also sporting my very first double booth - so please dear god come help fill it up.

WHOOOOOO!!!! Just in time to wave bye-bye and jaw nyah nyah to the end of winter it's FLATSTOCK 16 POSTER CONVENTION time yinz. FLATSTOCK is a fantastic and popular event in conjunction with Austin TX's SXSW MUISC freakout where over 120 working poster artists from all over the globe convene in a place called The Convention Center to sell, show, and talk about our work. Most works are hand screenprinted, with lots of salty tales of late nights, ripped screens, inky-blowouts and the occasional crying into a lonely beer can. All for the love of art and music.

It's a real dweeb fest! And by 'dweeb' I mean really damn cool. FLATSTOCK 16 is a gathering of professional poster artists working with bands, managers, record labels and venues, and are all a part of the The American Poster Institute which has been working as a professional collective organization since 2002.

So come see us! FLATSTOCK 16 will be held for 3 full days in the Austin Convention Center conveniently located near all of the HubBub Bub.

FLATSTOCK 16 Hours:
Thursday March 13th from 1pm to 6pm
Friday March 14th from 11am to 6pm
Saturday march 15th from 11am to 6pm
(Pretend this is a parking garage and WRITE IT DOWN.)

For more information about participaing artists, location, and more visit: www.flatstock.com and the SXSW Flatstock Site at http://2008.sxsw.com/music/flatstock and hope to see you there!

Upcoming posters:
March / Spring - Stars, North American Spring tour poster.
