New print released: Bird Dog & Bird

Bird Dog & Bird, our new 4-color hand screen printed art print.

Sometimes a great moment happens…

And if you are lucky, it’s right in front of you. Bird Dog & Bird is our newest, all hand silkscreen printed art print of just such an instant. And why couldn’t these two be the best of friends? Stranger things have happened!

  • Hand pulled screen print. 4 colors from 3 screens with bright teal hound dog blue, warm and transparent burnt orange and cocoa brown water based silkscreen non-toxic inks.
  • Edition of 105, hand signed, titled and numbered.
  • Size: 16 x 20 inches (40.6 cm x 55.9 cm.)
  • Printed onto archival, no-acid, recycled content, American made Cougar Opaque White, 100lb cover weight.

This print fits beautifully into either a standard 16″ x 20″ frame (as shown above), or into an 18″ x 24″ frame with a matte.

“Bird Dog & Bird” is now available in my Etsy shop here, and…soon to be available in my new website & webstore! OMG!

Oh happy day, ohdeedoh’s piece on our prints!

Click here to read the full post on ohdeedoh!

I woke up to a happy surprise today, the fantastic blog ohdeedoh wrote a really lovely piece on our prints! ohdeedoh is the perfect intersection of home & kid-friendly design, which is a really cool niche, as it insists on being very livable rather than high-concept focus. I love that. We’re just tickled that author  Sarah Rae Trover at ohdeedoh found our work and wrote such a fresh post about us. With the hand silkscreen printing process being so labor intensive (a “simple” 3-color print, edition of 100 takes 6-10 hours to complete), I can’t tell you how refreshing and awesome it is to see that a great blog like ohdeedoh gets it. Thank you so much!

Here is a little snippet for you:

“When it comes to artwork for children’s rooms it can be rare to find actual screen printed pieces that most parents would consider affordable. These 10 items all come in under $25 and are all handmade, layer by layer and color by color.”

All of the featured prints above (and more, of course!) are available at my website here, or click any of the below images to see larger images and more information on my hand silkcreen printed art prints & posters.

New release! 2010 “What Day Is It Today?” Calendar

3-color, hand screenprinted 2010 "What Day Is It Today?" Calendar. (Click for more info or to purchase.)

Yay! Finally! My first calendar. I’ve been really wanting to do one for oh…about 3 years now. Looks like I finally did it friends. This new release is my 2010 ‘What Day Is It Today?’ Calendar, freshly printed and available now on my website, in the classifeds and at my Etsy shop or in my 1000 Markets shop.

Calendars are very helpful. Especially if you wake up like I do, a little confused and asking the same question every morning. We all have a moment when you can’t always connect up the day of the week with a date and have to ask that same question: ‘What day is it today?’ Well, I’m here to help! Running Sunday – Monday, this traditionally laid out calendar will never leave you guessing. Ahh, if only it could find those missing keys too.

Here is my 3-color, all hand screenprinted calendar with baby blue, sunny orange and black hand mixed and non-toxic water based inks. Edition of only 50 Size: 11 x 19 inches (27.9 cm x 48.3 cm.) Paper: very sturdy French Sno Cone Muscletone 140lb cover weight stock.

I design and print my posters, so let me know if you have any questions! And, here are just a couple of process shots from my Flickr page too:
