New poster released: The Spinto Band tour poster!

Hand screenprinted, 4-color tour poster for The Spinto Band,. Click here for more information!

Hey hey! Brand new poster finally released and out there for you! It’s my fall 2009 tour poster for The Spinto Band, with Generationals & Pepi Ginsberg‘s Park The Van “Family Values” fall super tour.

Hooooraay! I love ’em. Bright, fun, hard workin’ and rad. 3 super sounds in one show poster.

This poster is my all hand screenprinted tour poster for some super bands (check them out and see if I’m lying.)

What you see here is a 4-color poster with magenta, sunny orange and black inks. Size: 16w x 22h inches. Edition of 145, though I have only 30 for sale and the rest were sold on tour with the band. Paper: acid-free & archival Cougar 100 lb White, cover weight.

Now available for purchase at my website HERE!

Here’s a couple photos of the print being built:

1st color down

2nd color, transparent magenta, lets the orange under layer show through and it makes a nice ruby red where they overlap.

And, some more good old fashioned hand printing process photos are here on my Flickr page too.

Their sometimes harmonious, sometimes dissonant dulcimer-uke-electro-rama tells stories of whiskey, barrooms, love, murder, farm living, paleontology, greek mythology, whiskey, bank robberies, springtime, and many other things that are essential to understanding our humanity.

Damara Rose Badila Moon at 8pm – Haunting awesomeness. Listen here.

DJ Thermos at 9pm – Currently working on translating his instrumental music into a live performance by banging on buttons, pads, levers, and knobs.
He’s also 1/2 of the rap group Therm&Soul, listen to more here.

Colin and the Shots at 9:45pm – They say swamp rock, we say the reason why you breathe. Always a good time!

Our Love Project at 10:45pm – “life from love, music from birth, death from love, music from ashes” hear a peep here.

Grilling by Craig ‘Dr. Grillenstein’ Seder working up veggies, hamburgers, hot dogs (vegetarian friendly versions available) for everyone from 5 – 9pm. there’s talk of a mountain of cole slaw too – think double dare minus the flag.

AIR October Benefit Parrrtaaay!

AIR. It’s a good thing right? We all need it to breathe. But, like many printmakers regionally (that means in the Pittsburgh area) and internationally (that means, you know, the whole globe) need AIR too.

AIR is the stuff we inhale, but it is also short for Artists Image Resource, the community co-op studio where I print all of my work. AIR is a not-for-profit, large, flexible use working artists studio with gallery spaces, screenprinting, etching, lithography, and letterpress studios and more.

Being not-for-profit means that my home away from home relies on donations and grant based funding to survive, hence the big October Benefit bash!

On SATURDAY OCTOBER 18 — OPEN HOUSE EVENT AIR’s annual fundraising event helps provide support for all of AIR’s programs and projects. This all day, kid-AND-adult friendly event includes hands on printing and art making activities as well as lots of bands, music, performances, food, refreshments and an exhibition and RAFFLE of work by artists and staff.

For a $10.00 entry fee at the door you can come and go all day, explore various printmaking processes and technologies, enjoy food and drink, experience performances, bands and music. For more specific information or call 412 321 8664. AIR is located on Pittsburgh’s historic North Side, at 518 Foreland Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
