Art Star Craft Bazaar Philly Here We Come!

Yay! We are heading to Allison’s hometown of Philadelphia this weekend for our first vendor participation in Art Star Craft Bazaar! The show features over 60 of the very best independent makers from Philadelphia and beyond have been chosen to set up shop and sell their wares.

The Fall Art Star Craft Bazaar is a retail art/craft show that is organized and juried by Philadelphia’s premier craft shop, Art Star Gallery & Boutique.

  • ASCB takes place at the 23rd Street Armory on Saturday, November 8th + Sunday, November 9th, 11-7pm

Shoppers can expect high quality handmade goods that reflect Art Star’s unique and quirky aesthetic.  Erin Waxman + Megan Brewster of Art Star have hand selected a diverse collection of artists that create anything + everything, including housewares, paper goods, dolls, prints, ceramics, clothing, accessories, paintings/drawings, sculpture, and many other one-of-a-kind curiosities. The Art Star Craft Bazaar aims to offer something for everyone (women, men, kids, moms, babies, teens, etc) at a range of prices to accommodate all budgets.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out a variety of crafting techniques and take home something special that they made with their own two hands!  A selection of local artists and art organizations / non-profits will be providing family friendly art/craft demonstrations and “Make + Takes”.  ASCB will also host a selection of local food trucks, which will be parked alongside the venue and will include Seoul Food, Pie Stand, Foolish Waffles (Sun only), Poi Dog, and Delicias and Samosa Deb.  Sweetbox Cupcakes  and Yards Beer will be set up inside.

So come on out for this two day celebration of all things handmade and get a jump start on your holiday shopping!

Shad Festival – See you this weekend in Lambertville, NJ!

Come see strawberryluna this weekend in Lambertville, NJ for the 32nd Annual Shad Festival – Saturday April 27th & Sunday 28th from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm both days.

Admission to Shad Festival is FREE and open to public. Beautiful & historic Lambertville, NJ is just across the Delaware River from beautiful & historic New Hope, PA.

80 of the region’s finest artists and handmade crafters will be in attendance vending and showing their work, featuring everything from art, jewelry, ceramics, furniture, apparel, accessories, home décor and more! We will bring lots of our hand silkscreen printed Art Prints, Alphabet Prints, Rock Posters, Test Prints, Lunch Bags and more. And, we’ll be vending right along next to Allison’s mom, Mamoucha Soaps too.

The Lambertville, NJ Shad Festival has evolved from a local art show into a nationally recognized award-winning event. Shad Fest features the area’s finest artists and crafters, great food and family entertainment, but the two-day extravaganza also serves as a venue for local non-profit organizations to raise necessary operating funds.

There are also cooking demonstrations both days, lots of family fun activities can be found throughout the event, live musical performances and lots more. On Saturday, The Delaware River Basin Commission will be teaching the public about how to test water quality at Lewis Island.

Thinking Of You” is our 2011 contribution to the amazing Screens’n’Spokes (aka S’n’S) MS 150 Team and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of their efforts and art shows again this year to help raise awareness and money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In just 5 years, the Screens’n’Spokes Team has raised over $200,000 to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through enlisting top printmaking artists to create new art prints for sale through the S’n’S annual art show and their Etsy Shop.

Once again this year S’n’S will be organizing a month long art show in Philadelphia with hand printed art work from over 15 Gig Poster artists. Mugshots CoffeeHouse on Fairmount has graciously hosted S’n’S for all five seasons.

This is my all hand screenprinted art print done for a traveling print show and Fair Trade coffee benefit organized by Mugshots Coffeehouse* in Philadelphia. These bestest buddies are my all hand screen printed art print with sun-orange, warm red-brown and elephant grey, hand mixed and non-toxic water based inks. Hi friend! Edition of 80. Size: 16 x20 inches (40.6 cm x 50.8 cm.) Paper: acid free & archival Cougar, White 100lb cover weight.

Beans & Screens, screenprinted art print Coffee Show 2009 Important Details:

*Mugshots Coffehouse in Philadelphia is a part of the Independents Coffee Cooperative, both working collectively to raise $16,000 for the Peruvian farmers who grow the coffee sold as their house coffee (Independents Peruvian Select). The farmers are undertaking an ambitious project to build a solar powered drying facility (to dry the beans after they are harvested). This will allow for the farmers to improve both the quality and quantity of the coffee they grow, by protecting it from the frequent rains in the region. 100% of the profits made through the show at Mugshots will go to Cooperativa San Fernando, a farmer-owned organic coffee cooperative located high in the Andes Mountains near Cusco, Peru.

Philadelphia City Paper's "The Greatest Trunk Show On Earth" is this Friday, May 16!

The fantastic crew at the Philadelphia City Paper (part of the newspaper group that puts on the superb DC-Baltimore area Crafty Bastards show) is sponsoring and organizing a great one-day DIY indie craft and arts show in Philadelphia called (awesomely)  The Greatest Trunk Show On Earth. The Trunk Show is part of the opening day festivities for The Piazza at Schmidts celebrating this new and exciting cultural, art & entertainment space’s grand opening weekend.

The Greatest Trunk Show On Earth will be held (for one day only!) in the Northern Liberties newest cultural center The Piazza at Schmidts featuring live music, films, galleries, restaurants, bars and more. The Greatest Trunk Show On Earth show is on Saturday May 16th, from 11am – 4pm. Over 100 artists will be vending, showing their handmade work and talking to people about their arts, crafts and the life of a working artist. I will be there with a booth filled to the brim with art prints, posters, test prints and more!

The Greatest Trunk Show On Earth and The Piazza at Schmidts are located at Germantown Ave & N 2nd St, in Philadelphia, PA.
