Hooray! Hooray! It’s finally Handmade Arcade Time! Our favorite show of the year is the 15th annual incredible showcase of handmade artists, makers, and crafters not just from around the Western PA region but from around the country.

We will have many new goodies and classic favorites at our booth for all of your Holiday gift and Treat Yo’self needs!

Brought to you by The Lexington Art League and Lexington Parks & Recreation The Woodland Art Fair dates, times, and location are:

Every August for 44 years, Woodland Park transforms into a venue featuring over 200 nationally juried artists and craftspeople selling unique, handcrafted items. Items for sale include ceramics, wood, hand pulled prints, jewelry, painting, metal, fiber, mixed media and photography. In addition to the hundreds of art sellers, The Woodland Art Fair features live  music, Kentucky & regional food and a regional craft beer garden, and free hands-on art activities for children and families all available with FREE admission. Come See Us @ Chardon Arts Festival 2019 Sunday!

Hello there Chardon, OH! We’re excited to meet you at our first time at the 2019 Chardon Arts Festival on this Sunday, August 4th in Chardon Square.

We will have lots of our hand pulled silkscreen Art Prints, our popular screenprinted Alphabet Prints, our silkscreen printed Rock Posters, all of our current Greeting Cards and lots of new goodies along with us so come on out and enjoy the day celebrating handcraft and art by working artists and craftspeople. And look for our good friend & beautiful hand cut paper artist Go Carr Go too!

This juried, outdoor show is free to attend and will host over 100 artists both local and out of state, providing a wonderful opportunity for a day of shopping and dining in a park like-setting. It is estimated that 5,000 people enjoy this beautiful show each year.

The Chardon Square Association’s annual Arts Festival is held on the first Sunday of August on beautiful, historic Chardon Square, located at the intersection of Routes 44 and 6, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lakewood Arts Festival 2019 This Saturday!

Hello Lakewood, OH! We are thrilled to return for our 2nd year at the Lakewood Arts Festival on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m in Lakewood, OH. And yep, one day only! So don’t miss out.

For 40+ years, the Lakewood Arts Festival has brought local and national artists to the streets of Lakewood, Ohio the first Saturday in August. With over 10,000 attendees, this one day show with arts and entertainment all day long this show features over 165 artists.

We will be in Booth #127 on Detroit Ave between Cooke Ave & Warren Rd. Right next to our good friend & beautiful hand cut paper artist Go Carr Go (See Map below – so we’re easy to find!). Our buds from Everyday Balloons Print Shop and Alternate Histories will be showing too, so we all hope to see you on Saturday! Woodland Art Fair is held on the beautiful Woodland Park grounds (601 East High Street, Lexington, KY 40502). Over 200 artists, enjoy live music, Kentucky food, beer gardens, family art engagement activities all available with FREE admission.

Every August for more than 40 years, Woodland Park transforms into a venue filled with over 200 artists and craftspeople selling unique, handcrafted items. Swag bags will go to the first 100 guests at the door or for your die hard DIYers we still have Early Bird shopping options, which comes with a handmade gift and early access from 11am-12pm!

Abandoned London Tube Poster Treasures

Like all subway systems and tunnels engineered by humans, the London Undergound has plenty of now-abandoned stations and spurs and passages.

Unlike most, there is a very special, and very abandoned, very non-public now-unused part of the Notting Hill Gate station that houses some lovely examples of UK poster design from it’s Mid-Century high point.

However, photographer Mikey Ashworth was able to gain access and take these photos. And you can see more of his photos here at Flickr.

The elevator passageway is well abandonned, but its original posters from the day the station was closed still hung on its tiled walls advertising all sorts of bright bits of the world of travel, exhibitions, film, toothpaste and more to no one these days.

The above “Royal Blue Coach Services” poster illustrated by the UK poster artist powerhouse and one of my favorite all-time illustrators, Daphne Padden.

These beauties are a stunning collection of illustration, type design and ad layouts from the late 1950’s, still in their native habitat. Which makes them extra special.

Most unfortunately, for a poster and design nerd like myself, these amazing, vibrant and powerful examples of advertising poster design are completely inaccessible to the public and are likely to stay so for the forseeable future. Once the renovations to this station were completed in 2010, this abandoned passageway was walled back up and sealed off from use again.

Still, many thanks to Mikey Ashworth and the London Underground for publishing these photographs of a poster age (sadly) gone by.

This is our all hand silkscreen printed, limited edition gig poster for the amazing Feist’s show in Pittsburgh on July 14th, at Stage AE, on Bastille Day.

  • Size 16 x22 inches (45.7 cm x 61 cm).
  • Edition: Limited edition of 120. Each print is hand signed and numbered by strawberryluna.
  • Inks: Hand printed in 3 colors with hand-mixed Steeltown gold, summer green and midnight black non-toxic water based silkscreen inks.
  • Paper: Archival, no-acid, recycled content, American made Cougar Opaque White, 100lb cover weight.
  • Fits beautifully into either a standard 16″ x 20″ frame by trimming the border, or into an 18″ x 24″ frame as is with a matte.

New Poster Release: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at Sasquatch! Music Festival 2012

One Solid Gold Toof & and a Gold Record – it’s all good.

We’re really honored to be a part of the amazing Sasquatch! Festival Poster Invitational for the 5th year in row. Each year Sasquatch! Fest hand picks a group of current poster artists from around the world to produce one special, limited edition posters for one of the bands playing at the Festival that year. For 2012 we are lucky enough to paired up with the super Clap Your hands Say Yeah and we couldn’t be more pleased. This year’s 2012 poster gallery is up at the Sasquatch! site here.

The main deets:

  • Our Clap Your Hands Say Yeah poster is an all hand pulled, hand screen printed gig poster with 4 colors, one of them is a metallic gold that shimmers like crazy in the light. Painstakingly silkscreen printed by hand in our studio.
  • Limited edition of 120. This run was split into 3, a portion for the band, another portion went to Sasquatch! Fest for their annual Poster Show in conjunction with the festival, with the remaining posters available here. Each print is hand signed and numbered by strawberryluna.
  • Size is approximately 16 x22 inches (45.7 cm x 61 cm).

Oh yeah! We’ve got another set of new designs to share today, and this is a fun one for sure.

Back in the late spring one day I received a convo in my Etsy shop from the lovely Sara Bareilles about doing some new merch pieces for her upcoming tours. Holy smokes! What a sweetpea. After a few backs and forth talks with the team she has, and having the pleasure of seeing her play live as well as have a meeting in person with her in Pittsburgh we were able to get to work on a suite of designs for this amazing artist.

Huzaah! We worked to create a series of pieces, including a new Tour Poster, tote bag and tank top for Sara Bareilles’s lively merch table.

New release! Bright Eyes silkscreen poster

Brand spanking new and fresh off the press, it’s our new poster for Bright Eyes for his show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh,

The music of Connor Oberst and Bright Eyes is like a beacon of individuality, sweetness, anger, and passion, at least that’s the way I hear it. When I first began printing at the community studio Artists Image Resource (AIR) in Pittsburgh, Bright Eyes was on heavy rotation during Open Studio nights and his voice still reminds me of that awesome time toiling away in that funny early stage of learning printmaking where you learn to love mistakes as much as you do successes.

In homage to all things organic, wise and bright this fella is our all hand silkscreen printed poster for the singular sound of Bright Eyes with hand mixed midnight black, teal, acrylic screenprinting inks. Edition: 150, each of these limited edition posters are signed & numbered (by me, strawberryluna) Size: 16×22 inches (39.4 cm x 55.9 cm.) Paper: archival Cougar, White 100lb cover weight.

The newest of the new? Our new poster for the superfantastiche and always dang great, Death Cab For Cutie. All hand silkscreen printed, limited edition and a part of the legendary Sasquatch! Music Festival poster series, commissioned each year by Sasquatch! and representing the top poster artists working today. We’re thrilled to have been asked to participate for the 5th year in a row in this series.

What can we say? Bright & dark, sharp and open, all at the same time. Death Cab For Cutie is one of those bands that perennially seems to be at the top of their game, record after record, song after song.

This is our all hand silkscreen printed poster for the sonic & lyrical perfection the one & only Death Cab For Cutie with hand mixed midnight black, magenta, and metallic gold acrylic screenprinting inks. We’re mega excited about this one around here! Introducing our all hand silkscreen printed, limited edition poster for Paramore for their 2011 Tour.

The darker side of Spring exposed for the band Paramore here in our poster for them. We’re so stoked working with these guys on a Spring 2011 poster.
All things grow in Spring, but all things may not always be what you expect. Dark, sweet, and sharp. That’s the allure of Paramore.

Available for sale at my website here and also in my Etsy shop here, this my all hand screenprinted poster for Paramore with bright blue, midnight black and scarlet red hand-mixed acrylic silkscreen inks. Edition: 300 to the band (look for them on tour and from their website!) and an Artist’s Edition of only 50 posters is available for sale here. The QR code can only be scanned by those who have a camera phone with a barcode reader and internet connection on their phone.
