We are super excited to be returning to one of our hometown’s best events, Three Rivers Arts Fest in the Artists Market. Come see the nation’s best artists, live FREE music, tons of cultural events and lots and lots of free, fun family-friendly activities. Heck, we even see lots of dogs there every year too, hooray!

Our session starts on Wednesday June 11 and runs through Sunday June 15, 2014. So come see us at Booth #79 on Gateway Plaza every day from 12 noon – 8pm.

And, we’re thrilled to announce that we did the Festival Identity this year too, so if you like what you see, let us know! Plus we designed a special, limited edition hand screen printed poster available exclusively from the Three Rivers Arts Fest Merch Booth too this year.

We will have all of our hand silkscreen printed Art Prints, Rock Posters, Alphabet Prints and more, including one-of-a-kind Test Prints and recycled cotton Lunch Bags too. Richmond Craft Mafia Spring Bada-Bing Time!

Hello Richmond! And the Richmond, VA area! We are heading your way for the first time ever and couldn’t be more excited to meet you.

We will be vending at the Richmond Craft Mafia Spring Bada-Bing show this Saturday (and this Saturday ONLY) April 5th at the lovely Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in lovely Richmond, VA. The show is a one-day-boomer and runs from 11am – 5pm, rain or shine. But we hear it’s mostly going to be shine. Hooray!

So come on out and see the handiwork of over 80 amazing vendors and makers of handmade craft. And if that’s not enough? Hello! Craft Beer. Seriously, it’s going to be a blast.

Who: The Richmond Craft Mafia

What: “Spring Bada-Bing: locally brewed crafty goodnesss” is an independent artist craft show in Richmond, Virginia

Well, it’s that time of year. Full of Holiday parties and Holiday Cheer.

Come join us for our very last show of the year THIS Saturday (ONLY!) for hours (ONLY) at the First Annual Super Friends Independent Artists Last Minute Christmas Market (and beer) Show! Hosted by CommonWealth Press at theCommonWealth Press Warehouse (not the retail shop!)

Hooray! It’s Handmade Arcade Time on December 7th!

Yinz guys! It’s finally time for Handmade Arcade!

On Saturday (and Saturday ONLY) December 7th, Pittsburgh’s biggest and most spectacular array of handmade makers, talent, artists and crafters arrive from all over the country for the amazing Handmade Arcade.

It’s one of our favorite shows of the entire year, and we’re so thrilled for Handmade Arcade’s special ten-year anniversary and can’t be more honored to be vending at this truly one-of-a-kind show. And trust us, we do shows all over the country! HA pulls in shoppers from the tri-state area to find lovely and well crafted handmade pieces for everyone their holiday shopping lists. Handmade Arcade is not to be missed.

We will have lots of new pieces and hand printed, and hand drawn art prints, rock posters, and more on hand, as well as a special collection of framed prints, ready to be gifted right away!

What: Handmade Arcade, the region’s largest independent and handmade craft fair. now in it’s 10th year. A highly anticipated annual event, HA attracts more than 8,000 attendees in one day. HA provides craft artists working outside mainstream and fine arts sectors with a grassroots, high-visibility venue to sell wares, build community, network, and share their artistic practice.

Handmade Arcade features tons of super cool maker demos and fun hands-on projects to create all sorts of make-and-take items in the Hands-On-Handmade section including screenprinting demos by Artists Image Resource (AIR), (where we learned to hand pull our screenprints!) Early Birdie Passes are available for $15 each, which provide shoppers with the exclusive opportunity to shop one hour before the event opens to the public. Early Birdie shoppers will have first pick to purchase all the unique and one-of-a-kind items that crafters will be selling and be given a bag full of goodies and coupons. This year’s Handmade Arcade will also feature welcoming live musical entertainment by Colonel Eagleburger’s Highstepping Goodtime Band and pop-up performances by Continuum Dance Theater.

Throughout the day, Handmade Arcade will feature DJ sets by Pandemic, Bad Seed, Max Terasauro of Pittsburgh Record Fest and The Garment District. Lunch items, snacks and refreshments will be available for sale on site.

I Made It! For The Holidays Show this weekend!

Hello Pittsburgh! Join us this weekend for the first of TWO awesome Holiday shows right here at home in the super fun I Made It! For The Holidays Market.

We will be at the nomadic and always changing I Made It! For The Holidays on the evening of 11/22 and during the day on 11/23 vending with over 80 other cool Makers of all things Handmade and awesome. This is a great opportunity to find special, handmade and hand crafted gifts for Hanukkah, Kwanza and Christmas, and everyone on your list. Both naughty AND nice.

Our booth is in the old Abercrombie & Fitch store space (can you get more Pittsburgh than that for direction?) directly across the from the Starbucks. Just look for the brightly colored prints and come say hello! As always we will have lots of our hand pulled silkscreen Art Prints, Rock Posters, Alphabet Prints, Lunch Bags and brand new, fresh off the presses 2014 Turtledoves Wall Calendar (both in Spearmint and Kraft colorways) and more!

The first 50 shoppers each day will receive a GOODIE BAG filled with awesome goodies from the vendors at show. YAY!!!

Hello Columbus! We’re heading to Craftin’ Outlaws this Saturday!

Bring it on Columbus, OH! We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s Craftin’ Outlaws Holiday show and we hope to see lots of friendly faces getting their Handmade Holiday shopping on too! It’s our first doing vending at this show, and we can’t wait.

WHAT:

Craftin’ Outlaws is now in it’s 9th year and will be held at Veterans Memorial in Downtown Columbus, so come on out and see that amazing Handmade greatness of over 90 vendors. And best, the first 100 shoppers of the day pick up a free screen printed tote!

Handmade Holidays ‘Ho!

The Holidays are just around the corner! Here is just a quick outline of our upcoming Holiday & Craft Show Schedule all featuring Handmade artists and makers, for the rest of 2013. (We will post more in-depth about each show approximately a week or so prior to each one.)

November 16th: Craftin’ Outlaws in downtown Columbus, OH from 10am – 5pm at the Veterans Memorial. It’s out first time doing this show, so show Handmade some love Columbus and come on out! We’ll be there selling our wares with lots of our best Pittsburgh maker-friends too as well as over 95 other awesome Handmade vendors. For more info click here or the image below!

November 22nd & 23rd: I Made It! For The Holidays in Homestead / Pittsburgh PA, at the Waterfront. New location! New wares! New fun for the Holidays! We’re excited to be a part of this nomadic show, with tons of amazing local artisans and crafty vendors. It’s become a Holiday tradition! So come join us on Friday evening, 11/22 from 5pm – 10pm and Saturday 11/23 from 11am – 6pm at The Waterfront, next to the Starbucks kiosk and start ringing in the Holidays Pittsburgh! We are Crafty Bastards this weekend in DC!

Yep, that’s right. We are Crafty Bastards!

This coming weekend on Saturday September 28th & Sunday September 29th, 2013 we are so thrilled and honored to be a part of the amazing Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair in our nation’s capitol, Washington, DC at Union Market. This is the first year that Crafty Bastards is 2 days long and we will be there at Booth #15 for BOTH days, so we can’t wait to have double the fun.

The Washington DC City Paper’s Crafty Bastards Fair will be held outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 in the Union Market parking lot. Admission is $5 each day (ticket price subject to change).

Important info about Crafty Bastards:

This show is a HUGE event and draws giant crowds to see the amazing set of the best of the best of handmade makers, crafters and artists from all around the US and beyond. Over 140+ vendors will be there, some on one day, others (like us) on both days. Check the vendor and scheduled list for info right here and a detailed map over here.
We’ll be at Booth Number 15 for BOTH Saturday & Sunday, (see map below), so come on by!
This is a ticketed and very busy show, now in its 10th year. Tickets are absolutely available for pre-sale here! Pre-sale 1-day passes are just $5, but with an equally amazing set of crafters coming on Sunday, make a weekend of it for $10 as both days will have different sets of artists and crafters!
Where: Washington, DC at Union Market Union Market, located at 1309 5th Street NE and is accessible via the NoMa-Gallaudet University/New York Ave. station on Metro’s Red line.
When: Crafty Bastards runs from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday & Sunday 9/28 and 9/29.

Hello Chicago Renegade Craft Fair!

We’re back in the swing of craft & art show season things! And we couldn’t be more excited to be heading to Chicago, IL for the always amazing (and always free!) Renegade Craft Fair – Chicago edition, happening this Saturday & Sunday September 7th & 8th from 11am – to 7pm, both days.

The Renegade Craft Fair brings together over 300 of the best of the best of handmade makers and artists from all corners, setting up booths to meet, greet, and sell our work to the lovely people of the Midwest. This event is HUGE and not to be missed!

We will be there bright and early, and stayin’ late at Booth No. 6 (see our handy map below), so easy to find right near the corner of Division & Damen. Easy in, easy out. Come visit and say hello! Hello Summer!

And summer in Pittsburgh means it must be time for Three Rivers Arts Festival. We are thrilled to be a part of the amazing Three Rivers Arts Festival tradition, going strong in Pittsburgh for 54 years. Founded in 1960, Three Rivers Arts Festival has continued to be a showcase of the best contemporary creative works in every medium, from music, fine arts, film, theater and dance performances, live craft and art demonstrations, and especially the Artists Market where you can meet artists and purchase a wide variety of affordable works. (Click on each medium for schedules!)

We will be in the always-popular Artists Market at Booth No. 69, on the City Side in Gateway Plaza (see map below), next to Gateway Center Two for 5 whole days, yep! Wednesday June 12th – Sunday 16th when the Arts Fest closes. So come see us!

Shad Festival – See you this weekend in Lambertville, NJ!

Come see strawberryluna this weekend in Lambertville, NJ for the 32nd Annual Shad Festival – Saturday April 27th & Sunday 28th from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm both days.

Admission to Shad Festival is FREE and open to public. Beautiful & historic Lambertville, NJ is just across the Delaware River from beautiful & historic New Hope, PA.

80 of the region’s finest artists and handmade crafters will be in attendance vending and showing their work, featuring everything from art, jewelry, ceramics, furniture, apparel, accessories, home décor and more! We will bring lots of our hand silkscreen printed Art Prints, Alphabet Prints, Rock Posters, Test Prints, Lunch Bags and more. And, we’ll be vending right along next to Allison’s mom, Mamoucha Soaps too.

The Lambertville, NJ Shad Festival has evolved from a local art show into a nationally recognized award-winning event. Shad Fest features the area’s finest artists and crafters, great food and family entertainment, but the two-day extravaganza also serves as a venue for local non-profit organizations to raise necessary operating funds.

There are also cooking demonstrations both days, lots of family fun activities can be found throughout the event, live musical performances and lots more. On Saturday, The Delaware River Basin Commission will be teaching the public about how to test water quality at Lewis Island.

I Made It! Market Jr. & Healthy Living show

It’s our first craft show of 2013! Yay!

We’ll be at the I Made It! Market’s Jr. & Healthy Living show on April 20th from 12-4pm, vending and having lots of family friendly fun. We be bringing lots of Alphabet Prints and art prints as well as rock posters and lunch bags for the kiddos and grown ups alike.

IMI! Jr. & Healthy Living is held at Bakery Square in the Eastside / Shadyside neighborhood. It’s a free and very family friendly event with over 50 vendors.

There will be booths outside & inside too (we’ll be inside) and lots do for all ages!

I Made It! Jr. pops back into Bakery Square on Saturday, April 20th from 12 – 4 pm for a market filled with lovelies made for our littlest friends and family members. Find clothing, accessories, art prints, toys, plush, cards, backpacks, gift items, and more all locally crafted and handmade. This event also features healthy living options including natural bath and body products, beautiful ceramic kitchenware, repurposed and green housewares, organic clothing, vegan baked goods and more.

IMI Jr/Healthy Living is a part of the 2nd Annual BkSq Family Fun in the Square from Noon-3pm featuring live music by DJ Matt Donnelly and the kid-friendly entertainment duo The Gab and Josh Show. Find balloon twisters from Airheads Balloons, BkSq and Farm to Table Pittsburgh will be hosting family friendly activities, and Franktuary and BRGR Food Trucks will be on-site as well! Over 21+ guests can enjoy beer for a suggested donation which will benefit the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Kids Marathon & Kids of STEEL program! Family Fun in the Square is a FREE all ages event. We hope to celebrate Earth Day together at BkSq

Dreaming of Cougar Paper & Domtar with strawberryluna

Introducing part of a project that we’ve been dying to share! Lil ol’ strawberryluna was selected by Domtar, the makers of our beloved workhorse Cougar Paper which we use almost exclusively for our silkscreen prints & posters, to be featured in a year-long ad campaign for Cougar throughout 2013.

The ads will be featured in design magazines like HOW Design, Communications Arts, Print, Applied Arts, Graphic Design USA, Printing Impressions, Design Edge, CANVAS and more in 2013. We’re beyond bowled over and thrilled to be partnered with our favorite paper, Cougar this year.

We’ve been using Cougar Paper and talking about this paper’s virtues for years, both in our silkscreen printmaking work and in more commercial printing projects. Domtar and Cougar are internationally recognized for their commitment to environmentally sound and sustainable practices. And Cougar specifically is an acid-free, archival and certified ecologically responsible paper. So what’s not to love? That’s what we think.

To that end, here’s an interview we did recently with the new Cougar Paper Community site.

The new Cougar Paper Community site is a new space where designers and artists join the community to interact and submit example pieces utilizing Cougar Paper, request samples, take part in promos and more.

Winter Guide Illustration for The Pittsburgh City Paper

Happy Winter Pittsburgh!

We’re really excited about our first illustration gig for The Pittsburgh City Paper, and doubly stoked that it’s the cover illustration for the 2013 Winter Guide.

Our chilly, sled loving bird in the ChillyBurgh is an olde timey Steeler fan as he graces the cover. The issue came out Wednesday, January 15th and will be around for one week around the city. And there’s even a digital edition here too.

Covering arts, music, theater, dance, excercise and cool things to do all around the city the Winter Guide is loaded with information about the things that make Pittsburgh so darn awesome. Don’t miss the much anticipated Pittsburgh City Paper Winter Guide!
